About us
We are a couple of baby boomers, looking for life post retirement after long careers in healthcare, insurance and fashion. Dog lovers and occasional breeders of Labrador Retrievers, we adore good food (Ginger is the chef and caterer), good whisky (Bob is the taste tester) and interesting travel. Partnering with our Italian tour guide, Linda Sorgiovanni of Italy Customized, was a no brainer. Together we are creating unique and unusual excursions for small groups.
How We Got Started
When we got married, Bob and I wanted to explore Italy on our honeymoon, but as we began to plan we realized that after all the planning that a wedding required, we really wanted to just relax, so we booked a trip to the Bahamas.
That was trip one to "Italy".
Then a year or so later, Bob was invited to a reunion of friends he had studied with in Scotland.
That was trip two to "Italy".
A few years later we booked our real first trip to Italy, and we stayed in the historic and beautiful Lucca area. We were hooked. After several wonderful visits around the country, we decided to put a somewhat unusual spin on our interest in the Italian experience and help others discover out of the way and unusual adventures.
Like many we love the countryside and the Italian people. We love the soul and history of Italy. We love its wine and food. I love the fabrics, ceramics and marble. Bob loves fly fishing its waters.
Cosi Bella Travel was born. Our goal is to create distinctive and unusual small group international excursions to introduce others to the places we have visited and love.
We hope you will join us soon for an intimate visit to places you, too, will learn to love.
Top Destinations
Tuscany excursions planned for October 2021 and October 2022 where we will experience the olive harvest and beautiful fall countryside, Assisi and Cortona. If larger cities are your thing, Italy Customized will be happy to arrange travel to additional locations as an add on to this trip.
Inverness and Orkney, Scotland. June 2022 for lots of History, Whiskey and Fly Fishing. Explore a bit of the Outlander countryside, taste some wonderful whisky and experience the ancient and unusual early historic ruins on the Orkney Isles.
Additional small group trips are being planned to beautiful European destinations.
